Green forging technology has been implemented! The country's first zero-emission forging production line has reduced carbon emissions by over 20,000 tons annually.

Recently, it was announced that the domestic first "zero carbon emission" forging production line it invested in and constructed has been officially put into operation. This production line achieves zero carbon emissions throughout the entire production process through innovative technologies such as solar power supply, waste heat recovery, and clean forging processes. It can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 23,000 tons per year, equivalent to planting 128,000 trees. This provides a demonstration sample for the green transformation of the forging industry.
According to the enterprise's environmental protection director, traditional forging production lines have high energy consumption and significant pollution. Just the gas consumption of the heating furnaces alone requires the emission of a large amount of carbon dioxide each year. The zero-emission production line that was put into use this time adopts three core green technologies: First, it is equipped with a 20-megawatt photovoltaic power station to meet 80% of the production line's electricity needs, and the remaining 20% is supplemented by purchased green electricity; second, it innovatively applies the "forging waste heat - steam generation - heating furnace preheating" closed-loop recovery system, converting the residual heat generated during the forging process into electricity and heat energy, increasing the energy utilization rate to 92%; third, it adopts the "induction heating + non-oxidation forging" process, replacing the traditional gas heating furnaces, completely eliminating pollutant emissions such as nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide.
"After the production line is put into operation, not only has it achieved zero carbon emissions, but it has also reduced production costs," the enterprise's director calculated. Solar power supply and waste heat recovery can save about 8 million yuan in electricity and gas expenses each year. The non-oxidation forging process improves the surface quality of the forgings and reduces the subsequent processing volume by 50%, saving about 5 million yuan in raw material costs each year. Currently, this production line mainly produces large products such as wind power flanges and nuclear power forging parts, and has signed long-term supply agreements with companies like Goldwind Technology and China Nuclear Power. The annual production capacity can reach 30,000 tons.
Environmental experts in the field said that the forging industry, as a high-energy-consuming and high-emission industry, its green transformation is of great significance for the realization of China's "carbon neutrality" goals. The landing of this zero-emission forging production line provides a replicable and promotable green production model for the industry. If it is promoted nationwide, it is expected to reduce carbon emissions by over 5 million tons each year, promoting the manufacturing industry to develop towards a green and low-carbon high-quality direction.
